R10 gauge overview

A ready-to-use connected hygrometer and thermometer

The R10 gauge is a connected sensor measuring ambient humidity and temperature. Its sensor is encapsulated in a stainless steel shell specially designed to let air circulate while providing excellent mechanical protection.

It allows you to remotely monitor humidity and temperature variations, ensuring precise and continuous tracking of environmental conditions.

To suit different measurement needs, the R10 gauge is available in two versions:

  • Sensor built into the housing, for a direct and compact installation.
  • Remote sensor with mounting bracket and 10 metres of cable (the cable can be cut to a shorter length on request) for more targeted measurement or in hard-to-reach areas.

Fully self-contained, the R10 gauge requires no additional equipment to operate. Delivered ready to use, it includes everything needed for reliable, accurate and long-lasting monitoring.

A complete device delivered with:

  • A communication module, SIM card and built-in battery with multi-operator coverage: no additional equipment is required.
  • An application accessible with no time limit, on smartphone or PC, to configure and view data at any time.
  • One year of subscription included, activated only at first start-up.
  • The “Tracking+ mode to temporarily increase the measurement and transmission frequency.

Typical applications of the R10 gauge

The R10 gauge is ideal for remote humidity and temperature monitoring in many contexts. Rugged and self-contained, it adapts equally well to indoor and outdoor environments, even hard-to-reach ones.

  • Humidity monitoring in cellars, museums, archives, libraries or historic buildings
  • Monitoring of climatic conditions in civil engineering structures, service galleries and sensitive premises
  • Monitoring of ambient conditions in storage areas, construction sites or temporary premises
  • Long-term measurement of humidity changes in building structures and infrastructure
  • Monitoring of humidity variations during renovation or restoration works

Thanks to its LTE-M / NB-IoT connectivity and extended battery life, the R10 gauge offers a complete solution for precision environmental monitoring with no maintenance or wiring.

Optimal network coverage and remote configuration

The R10 gauge wakes up at regular intervals to measure ambient humidity and temperature, stores the data locally, then automatically transmits it to the app according to the defined transmission frequency. The R10 gauge is an IoT (Internet of Things) sensor that connects to the LTE-M / NB-IoT network. This is a network based on the mobile operators’ 4G antennas and specially designed for connected objects: this protocol allows a greater range in distance and through walls (it can pick up a signal in basements where a phone cannot).

Thanks to its simple and intuitive interface, no technical expertise is required. The user sets up the sensor in a few clicks to start the measurement series.

The R10 is remotely configurable: the settings can be changed at any time as needs evolve.

The R10 gauge is reusable: at the end of a monitoring campaign, the gauge can be removed, stored, then reused for a new mission, with a configuration identical to the previous installation.

A battery life that can exceed 8 years of operation

The gauge runs on a 3.6 V lithium battery (included on delivery). Its battery life depends on the chosen settings and conditions of use: it can range from more than 2 years to more than 8 years in standard situations. The app provides an estimate of the remaining battery life during initial setup.

When the battery is nearing the end of its life, an alert is automatically sent to anticipate the battery replacement.

Remote humidity and temperature monitoring with the app

All data can be viewed via the https://saugnac.app app, both on smartphone and computer.
Access to this app is entirely free, as with all of our measuring instruments. Even after the data transmission subscription expires, your account and the history of your measurements remain available.

The interface lets you display customisable graphs, downloadable as image files for easy integration into your reports.
The raw data can also be exported as Excel or CSV files for further use.

A share link can be generated to give access to a dynamic report, always updated at the moment it is viewed.

The app also includes a system of configurable alerts: you can set a threshold, upward or downward, relative to the first measurement. If it is exceeded, an email notification is automatically sent.

To test the app with the demo account, use the following credentials:
– username: saugnac.en@gmail.com,
– password: demo

“Tracking+” mode: enhanced monitoring that can be activated remotely

To meet occasional needs for more intensive monitoring (e.g. unusual events, works, structural alert), a “Tracking+” mode can be activated remotely via the app.

This mode lets you increase the frequency of measurements and transmissions, with the following settings:

  • measurement frequency: every 2, 5, 10, 20 or 30 minutes
  • measurement transmission frequency: every 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours

This mode is temporary, as it uses more power and data.
The maximum operating time is automatically determined based on the chosen frequency. Once this duration is reached, if the user has not deactivated “Tracking+” mode, the device automatically returns to standard mode in order to preserve battery life and the amount of data exchanged. This mode can be activated several times for a measurement series, up to a limit of 12,000 measurements.

Simple and fast installation

Installing the R10 gauge is designed to be quick and accessible to everyone, with no particular technical skills required. It is done in a few steps, using the supplied screws and the Saugnac app, available on smartphone and PC. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the gauge to guide you step by step.

Installation steps:

1️⃣ Add the gauge in the Saugnac app by scanning the QR code.

2️⃣ Configure the measurement settings in the app

3️⃣ Power on the gauge

4️⃣ Mount the gauge

Subscription and network coverage: reliable and extensive connectivity

Each connected gauge is delivered with a one-year multi-operator subscription, valid throughout Europe and the world’s main countries.
When powered on, the device automatically selects the best-performing network available, relying on the LTE-M and NB-IoT protocols, specially designed for connected-object communications via mobile operators’ 4G antennas.

Checking coverage in France
To check network coverage at a specific address, you can use the official ARCEP service: https://monreseaumobile.arcep.fr
Select “Internet mobile”, then the 4G network, choose an operator (Orange, Bouygues, SFR), and enter the desired address to check the signal quality.

Handling network interruptions
If the connection is temporarily lost, the gauge stores the data locally. This data will be automatically transmitted at the next connection.
If the interruption persists, the device attempts an automatic reconnection, including a change of operator if necessary.

Managing the subscription

  • Duration: 1 year from first activation
  • Extension: directly from the app, either by bank card or via a purchase order generated from a quote
  • Price: €49 excl. VAT for an additional year
  • Data: after expiry, previously recorded data remains viewable, but no new measurement is transmitted until the subscription is renewed
